"The Immortal Jew"

I hope all my readers are aware of the commemorative holiday approaching. "Yom Hashoa" or "Day of Mourning" (I think).
Im sure we all know what the Holocaust was. It was an attempt to destroy the Jewish population. Im not going to get into to much detail about it because every Jew should already know and never forget.
But why would we want to remember 6,000,000 Jews dieing? (some of which is my close family, my grandparents were both survivors and lost their whole families). We don't, we want to commemorate our existance and the fact that we survived and still thrive in all countries every day.
Mark Twain a.k.a. Samuel Clemens was one of Americas greatest author's and a big part of American literature. He was not Jewish but very smart. The Jewish peoples survival was noticed by him and he wrote the following.

"The Egyptians, the Babylonians, and the Persians rose, filled the planet with sound and splendor, then faded to dream stuff and passed away; the Greeks and the Romans followed and made a vast noise, and they were gone; other peoples have sprung up and held their torch high for a time, but it burned out, and they sit in twilight now or have vanished.
The Jew saw them all, survived them all, and is now what he always was, exhibiting no decadence, no infirmities of age, no weakening of his parts, no slowing of his energies, no dulling of his alert and aggressive mind, all things are mortal but the Jew; all other forces pass, but he remains. What is the secret of his immortality?"
- Mark Twain.

"Define Yourself"

Know who you are and what you WILL become, not what you MIGHT become. Start by realizing where you came from and what your values are. The following was written as a report for school by a great friend/family member of mine, Joseph P. Sabzehroo....Enjoy.

PERSONAL IDENTITY
As I was growing up, there were a few roles that helped make me who I am today. Skateboarding, music, and my school, TAB, which is short for Torah Academy of Brooklyn, were what I feel were major factors in shaping the man you see before you today.
When I was started skateboarding everyone in the Community hated it. The “Community” refers to the Syrian Jewish Community of Brooklyn. “Geographically speaking, the Syrian Jewish community of Brooklyn — 75,000 strong and growing fast” (Chafets). We are a community of 75,000 Syrian Jews, residing mainly in Brooklyn, NY and Deal, NJ, although there are several other small enclaves worldwide. Florida is another place that we go to during the winter. Together as a community we go to Florida for Passover and spend it together in the same area known as Turnberry Isle, which is in Aventura, Fl. We all go to the same synagogue and recite prayers and eat traditional Passover food with all our families together.
I started skateboarding when I was around 13. The Community all called my friends and I skaters, as if we were bad people, or punks. Because I cared so much about what the community thought of me, I stopped skateboarding when I was 15. I became more involved in other things, such as school and my music. I got very involved in my school in both and academic and a religious sense. I focused mainly on my Judaic Studies to the extent that I spent time in Israel, studying abroad. I spent 7 months studying in a Yeshiva there, opening my mind to the wonders of our sacred Torah, and all its’ teachings.
Music was, and still is a passion of mine. I play the guitar, something I started doing when I was about 14 years old. I joined a band, and we are working on writing our own original music as well. Music is a very important part of our Community, although not necessarily my kind of music. The Syrian Community uses music in their daily prayers, as a way of expressing joy, and as a means of celebration. I hope in some way, to continue this tradition, by making music of my own. I look back at the songs I sang a child, Arabic words, in melodies tunes, which I try to incorporate in my musical styling today.
Music has helped me get thru a lot of hard times as well. Whenever I got depressed or unhappy, for example over a girl or a fight with my parents, I’d just play some of my favorite music, listen to the lyrics and try to apply them to my life, and help make myself feel better.
I recently started skateboarding again. Its really hard for me to get back on the board and do all the tricks I used to do but I’m trying. My friends advance faster than I do and while this annoys me a little, I think it is because I’m more out of shape than them. I’ve been reading about exercise and getting back into shape, and hope skateboarding can help me with that.

Skateboarding is kind one of my main hobbies. As my friends progress I record their new tricks on camera every day and upload them to my computer. Once the videos are on my computer I can cut and edit them, as I like too to make my video. We are currently trying to make a huge video so we can send it out to big skateboard companies to try to get recognized and possibly sponsored. We would also like to have some kind of footage to show our children some day. Skateboarding taught me discipline. When there is a trick that I can’t do, I do it over and over until I get it right. It takes me a long time to land a trick, however after a while I do get it.
I started going to TAB in 11th grade. Before that I was home schooled for 3 years. Being home schooled is not easy. I didn’t have friends to hang out with everyday. A teacher from the Board of Education would come to my house everyday for 2 hours a day for 3 years straight. After my academic studies of home school I would have nothing to do but sit around and play my guitar. Once I got into TAB things changed. I suddenly started making new friends and started to socialize. The teachers at TAB and the friends I had there all shaped my personality that I have today. The teachers taught me the way of life and how to be a religious Jew and follow the ways of the Torah. I have great respect for the teachers at TAB. It is a small school of about 100 students and most of the kids do not pay tuition. The teachers that teach barley get paid because there are so little people paying tuition that there is no money to get paid with, however they do have a love for the students and the students share that mutual feeling. The teachers at TAB and the students are all friends on a personal level, to a point that you could talk to the teachers about anything and they will always be there to guide you and help you with hard times. Most of the friends I have today are from TAB.
My friends are like family because were all taught the same way. I sat down and spoke with my principle and asked him a couple of questions. One of the questions I asked him was how he got us all to have love for one and other and he replied, “Love your neighbor, like you love yourself” (Rabbi Dovidowitz). My friends and I take care of each other, we all have a certain love for each other like brothers that grew up in the same family. Because we did grow up in the same family, and our family was TAB.
The roles that made me who I am today, could be very different from the roles to come tomorrow. Everyday is a new experience and everyday we take on a new role in my life. Hearing a new song, landing a new trick on my skateboard, or learning something new from my high school teacher. These are all roles that changed me everyday for the past few years and will continue to change me. I will always change, and everyone will always change. People never stay the same, and we have the important roles in our life to thank for that.

"MacBook Pro"

I like to think alot. The other day my friend's and I were trying to figure out what to do that evening. One of my friends suggested partying. Another suggested just a bar to get drunk. Another friend said I don't care lets just go where there are girls. I thought long and hard about what my friends were saying and came to a conclusion.
I could drink in my house or one of my friends houses, and its more comfortable than a bar or a club. I could even just hang out with my boys where we stand and id Rather that then be in a club. So why should I troop to the city, pay for parking, pay ridiculous prices for alcohol that I'm not going to drink, get other peoples sweat on me and my clothes when they walk by and watch ugly people dance? whats the point?
It's all about girls duuuude!
I cant say I didn't use to do it often, but whats better than flirting or dancing like an asshole with a drunk pretty girl?
I've gotten older and alittle wiser and realise now that that's all bullshit. There are other ways to flirt with girls whether its on the beach, the elevator, the train or my favorite, the sales girl in the clothing shop's.
Flirting with girls can be the easiest thing if you get lucky. By lucky I don't mean her being interested in you, I mean actually being in the position to flirt with a pretty girl. After that it's up to you, you either have it or you don't.... Can you Mac?
The Elevator
The building I work in has like 50 floors, and 12 elevator shafts. My building also happens to be a garment building so there are always plenty of girls around, buyers, designers, Secretaries etc.... I've gotten lucky a few times to be in an elevator alone with a girl. I don't usually mac around other people I like to be respectful. A good MacPro will first see if theres anything he can comment on or say right away.
Example. I saw a pretty girl carrying luggage, very common in the building. The first and only thing I said to initiate conversation was "Vacation?" I know shes not going on or coming from a vacation. Shes either a buyer here on business that had to bring her luggage, a salesgirl with her samples or an assistant having to take it up or down for someone. Turned out she was an assistant but we spoke alittle about where we both work and now, every time I see her I'll get a smile.
Personally, I don't flirt to "score" or to have a relationship, I have enough friends and my girl takes care of me fine : ) but its a natural act I must do if I'm put in that position.
The Train
You have to be some kind of MacPro to pick up a girl on the train. I always catch girls looking at me, I love making eye contact, in a way, it's a rush. The truth is theres nothing I can do if a girl is grilling me from far away. I'm not going to get up and talk to her, that's a creepy move. I'm not going to get off on her stop to talk to her that's an even creepier one so back to luck. If you get lucky enough to sit next to a pretty girl there are many thing's that can be done to mac. Example. I was sitting next to a girl doing su doku. I don't know how to play but at that moment I wish I did. I would of been able to point out an answer or something and that might start a convo, but, I got lucky. 2 minutes later she turned to the word finder and I found a word for her and pointed it out. She turned to look at me and saw who I was and smiled. We continued finding words together and I Mac'd it. (by mac'd it I mean developed a short friendship) shoa shoa....
The Store
The store is my favorite place to Mac. I love to Mac in stores because half the work is done for you. The girl comes to you, isn't that half the battle?... I've been approached by guys in stores but all you have to do is say "naa nigga I'm just looking". Then when you see the pretty salesgirl pick up anything you see and be like "what do you think of this?" Don't be an ass and just ask for your size get her involved in your wardrobe. I personally do it because I like advice from girls. but you guys can do it to Mac. after that it's all up to you. I've even seen cases of getting in the fitting room with the sales girl (wink).
My conclusion is, theres no need to inconvenience yourself by going out specially to get girl's. Girl's are all around us naturally, so if you cant flirt or Mac in any of the places I mentioned then there is no point in going to a club or a bar so ask yourself this question..... Are you a MacPro?

No Sleep Till......

BROOOKLYYYYYNNNNNN
A good friend of mine, Elliot, visited California last week in a very popular city I like to call "Lost Angeles". He boasted much about the vibe and the fact that everyone is friendlier. Then he started talking about how much better and more relaxed the shopping environment was. One of the thing's he mentioned was that even if you don't buy anything in the store, the people that work there will be nice to you.
I've never been to LA but can imagine how nice that could be. I love to shop more than anything and i say this without knowing much about LA but I wouldn't change my city for anything in the world.
I don't know how serious my friend was when he said this but he definitely said it. "I'm making an aliyah to LA". I didn't take him very serious but what if he wasn't kidding. Besides the fact that I would miss him..... NOTTTT, I would hate the fact that he wouldn't live with our boy's in BK. Besides for our huuge circle of friend's, there's something else in the air here in BK and it's not the pollution. It's the real vibe of a Orthodox Jewish community. Our food, our synagogues, our extended families and most of all our memories.
I was walking with my friend Leor to meet the rest of our boy's for lunch. We saw an old friend on the way and stopped to talk to him. As we were walking away, Leor turned to me and said, "Would you ever have imagined thing's would turn out the way they did? I wonder where we will all be in 10 year's from now" I thought to myself that this was a good question. I told Leor that I couldn't imagine what we would be doing but I definitely knew where we would alllll be. Brooklyn, New York.
Again, I've never been to LA but all I see and hear from it is a bunch of materialistic crap. Paparazzi??? What the fuck is that? To me, the paparazzi is a sign of how dumb, stupid and naive the American people are and Brooklyn is that farthest thing from American people.
No Sleep Till........

"Heey Macarena (aaayyy)".

What the fuck happened to the "Electric Slide"?
When I was a little boy I'd love to go to Bar Mitzva's or wedding's, any party would have been good for me. I remember at every party everyone would get excited when the band started playing "Hands up baby hands up give me your heart give me give me your heart". When all the mom's were doing there dance I remember sitting in my dad's lap thinking to myself how cool it was that all the people were doing the same dance. Then they started playing the "Electric Slide" and I would be in shock. I know it sound's so lame but I was like 5 and the "Slide" was cool (boogywoogyoogy).
Imagine today if we were at a wedding and all the mom's would get up and do the electric sliiiide. I'd think we were in a mental institution. Does this mean I got old? Am I so old that I've lived through the synchronized dance era? This shouldn't be. I know that id I get married, my DJ better play some Electric Slide (boogywoogyoogy). If that should be the case I'll notify all my guest's to learn the Electric Slide, maybe I'll send an instructional DVD in the Invitation.

This is the only video I found for now but learn from it and lets bring the Electric
Slide back in style..... VINTAGE ..... boogywoogyoogy.

"The Test"

I love a lot of thing's. Besides for sneakers and clothes, I also like eating, blazing, driving fast and sleeping all day. Think about what you like to do the most, think about your guilty pleasures. I bet you can count a lot, I know I can.
Unfortunately most of the thing's I like to do are bad for me. If I eat too much I'll get more fat. What am I supposed to do?? I get hungry I like to eat. So the question is... Was I blessed or cursed with a big appetite.... (well get to the answer later)
How many people need more than 1 or 2 pair's of sneakers? I need 20 and i can't sleep at night if there's one that I love and dont have. as wierd and funny as it sound's, it's a bad habbit.
I smoke cigarette's. I know how bad they are for me but I still don't bother to stop.
I love when my boy's race eachother in there car's. As fun as it is, It is the most dangerous thing in the world and we still cant pass up alittle race down coney.
I could go on and on about thing's that I do that I shouldn't. And I'm sure everyone has a guilty pleasure.
I know more than anyone how hard it could be to stop something you like doing. So my question now is, why?
I ride the New York City subway every morning. When I look around I see alot of half ass people, some with missing teeth and some just smelling like shit. These are the people that can't help themselves and werent able to to balance out the good and the bad.
I'm a strong religious believer and i believe that I'ts all here to test us. I think God gave me a huge appetite because he know's how much eating mean's to me. The test? Can I balance out my eating with excersizing? I personally have trouble with it but at least I know that that's the task.
My good friend's loooove to drink and get smashed. If it was up to them, They'd drink all night long and never stop but.... There's a restriction. You want to drink all night? Then your'e going to spend the whole next day with your knees on the floor and your head in a toilet (if your'e lucky enough to make it to a toilet).
You like to have sex? If it was up to me I'd bang all night every night but... There are restrictions. Aid's, Diseases, infection's so balance it out. According to my religion, we should wait til were married. This law has been around for thousand's of year's. I think that when the people started getting carried away and not restricting themselves from certain thing's, God said to himself "they don't want to do it? I'll do it for them" and he created the Aid's virus. The Aid's virus isn't ancient It's actually very new, I'm not researching it for you but i think it was first recorded in the 80's.
I never did much drug's (weed is not a drug) but I could only imagine how good they feel. And in my head I figure that the better something feel's the worse it is for you and could kill you quicker.
I could go on and on but all my reader's should get back to work because that's how we balance our pleasure.

"The Killa"

I was up early this past Sunday morning and decided to do some shopping while I was up, the earlier the better on Sunday's. I was at the Saks 5th Ave outlet when my boy "Ike Miz The Killa" called me up. I would have told The Killa to come with me that morning but i knew he was still sleeping and he appreciated the fact that i didn't wake him up to come. I was walking through the shoe section and saw the nicest sneaker i've seen in a while. By now I wasn't listening to what Ike was talking about, all I could think about is finding my size. If you've been to an outlet youll know that whatever is there is there, theres no more in the back and you just have to grab the box with you're size. Of course your boy Big Foot over here didn't find his size. I thought to myself that I can't just walk away from these sneaker's and not see them again. These aren't ones you find everyday and even more that it was in an outlet so there priced well. I quickly asked my boy Ike if he needed sneaker's and he did. I told him how hot these sneakers were and he said "Oren I trust your taste, I'm a 10 and a half, buy them for me." It was right there that i realized how much my nigga Ike trusted my taste and it meant alot to me. It's no surprise that he loved them and i can't wait to hang out with Ike when he wears them.

"Them Be Dose Gangsta Shits"
Listen to this song, the video didn't come out yet so chillll.

"Red and Orange Green and Blue, shiny Yellow Purple too."

Every morning when i wake up i log onto Google.com to see what the weather is going to be like. The past few days it has been very cold and today... cloud's and fog. To my surprise, when i looked this morning i saw that tomorrow will be 61 degrees. As i was putting on my heavy coat I looked to the side and thought to myself how I couldn't wait for tomorrow so I can wear my lighter jacket.
SPRING IS HERE and the colors should be out!! I sell ladies jeans and all the hype right now is about the color denim. The company I work for has them in 10 different bright ass color's and in 4 different cuts, a skinny long, skinny Capri, Bermuda and short Short's and they look good! It's very unfortunate that if i want to see pretty girl's wearing them I have to travel to the Bronx but that shouldn't be. I want to see some pretty white girl's in Lilac skinny jean's. Is that to much to ask?
I understand my boy's won't wear too much color in their wardrobe. If there is anything I hate it is bright MIX color shirt's. When my boy's wear a striped button down they don't mix too many colors, so how can we incorporate color into the wardrobe?
Besides for it being "all about the kicks brova", we can also add color by wearing a cool Blue or Green spring jacket. Now that the weather is nice we can even wear a cool Baseball cap. I know my boy Joe Lew is gonna rock his Mets cap come spring time.
Spring time is also wedding season. I hate bright colors when I wear a suit but they can definitely be cool to other people, I understand. Light Grey suit jacket's are the best way to go these day's. Light Grey will bring out the color of any beautiful shirt in any color. A tie isn't even necessary. How about some Navy suit's this season. If you already own a Navy suit you are a roller. Try to wear a nice brown pair of lace up dress shoes (if you don't already do so). And don't forget to walk with a swag.... you're from the county of the KING'S

Now that's color

"Its All About The Kick's Brova"

My friend Nathan and I were on the way to meet the rest of the boy's for lunch. As we were walking Nathan go's "Yo those guy's were checking your sneaker's out". I got paranoid and and kept walking, I don't like men looking at my leg's. I thought to myself how it was awkward that they were staring but I'm glad because maybe they could learn from it. I like when people wear nice kicks. You guys know what I like more?
When people wear cool sneaker's and dressy clothes. By dressy clothes I don't mean a suit, but a nice button down shirt and a dressy jacket with jeans and high top sneaker's.
GANGSTAAA you got ball's? dress like me!
Sneaker's to work can tell alot about a person. maybe that hes still young and does'nt worry as much. More easy going and lay back but sharp and daring. Not all day's can allow you to do that I understand a suit once in a while but "Its all about the kicks brova".
I was walking to my cigarette spot on my floor. As i turned the hall I saw my neighbor's secratary. She's very pretty and she's a thug. I don't like to flirt with people i have to see all the time like that but this time was diffrent... She was wearing a pair of Pee Wee Herman high top dunk's! my jaw dropped and i almost dropped my cigarette. I happened to be wearing my Brut high top Dunk's that day but I saw her grilling them down as well.
There is nothing sexier to me than a cute girl in high top sneaker's. I've seen cool high top Adidas and even cool high top Reebok's they all look good (except for the All Star's and the Air Force Ones, there too ghetto)
Sneaker's can put A whole outfit together, but they can also ruin an outfit. Make sure your color's are good and make sure the type of sneaker is for the right occasion. For example... Don't wear your Carmelo Anothony basketball sneaker's with jeans. It just does'nt work. Wear them with sweat pant's and basketball shorts because that's what there made for.
Summer time is coming up and I want to make sure all my reader's know what to wear on there feet. If you're wearing relaxed chino short's and a button down oxford shirt, which i highly recommend, try a pair of boat shoe's.
Photobucket
That's a very plain pair but they are very cool you obviously don't wear sock's with them and "Sperry Top-Sider" is the company that's known for boat shoes.
At night? Wear a Driving shoe.
Photobucket
With jeans (if your'e not kicked out) or with the same outfit as the boat shoe. Also worn without sock's. Get a nice pair with nice soft suede inside and they will feel so good on your feet.
Im not a sandal guy and if any sandal guy's are reading this, X your screen and don't come back bitch. Slipper's to the beach and pool only. And do me a favor put them on when you get to there, not before.

"Next Stop, 59th Street and Lexington. Stand Clear Of Closing Door's"

"The Hookup"... one of the most important factor's when it comes to buying thing's. When i realize i need something whether it may be a camera, TV, watch, or even a car the first thing i think is "who can hook me up".
I have a close relative who work's in Bloomingdale's on 59th street. She's very cool and she's engaged to my brother so she know's me pretty well. It was about a month ago, she texted me randomly and said "you have to see the new men's section at bloomingdales". I replied i'd come, and planned on going. I like to visit Bloomiingdale's once in a while especially around sale time. I didn't get a chance to see the new men's section and completely forgot about the text.
My brother called me up today and said "im in bloomingdale's they're having the super sale again come shop". I got excited and ran, you guy's know what i love more than shopping? A good bargain. When i arrived my future sister in law smiled and told me what the sale was like. My eyes lit up and i gave her a huge hug. While i was hugging her she asked if i'd seen the men's section again. I said no and she got pissed. Not really but she was like, "go see it!!!".
I started walking torward's the men's cool jean section. If you know what i mean about Bloomingdale's, all the designer's have there own section's. Then there is the jeans section where the Diesel is the Seven, (not so) True Religion, Triple 5 soul etc.... they used to call that section the "the mix". As i got closer to the section i saw rug's. I asked the salesman where the jeans were. He said downstair's. I thought to myself arn't i downstairs? i saw another escalator going down and hopped on it.
The coolest men's section i've seen in the whole city. And even cooler? there's an entrance to the 1, 2, 3, N, R, W train's. Directly from the platform into Bloomindale's. How cool is that? Unfortunately I dont use any of these train's. and never go up that far unless i have to go to Bloomindale's. The clothes are "ehh" alright. Im not into those jeans anymore or clothes anymore you could usually find me shopping in the John Varvatos section upstrair's but... Check out the Converse/John varvatos line in the cool men's section downstair's. That shit look's good and its not as expencive as other brands but the quality and the style are absolutely great.

"Outerwear Blues"

I have the privelage of working in the biggest and best city in the world. New York City.I love the huge building's and all the foot traffic. I love the food, the people and the vibe I get in Manhattan. The thing I love most about working in Manhattan has got to be the fact that alot of my boy's work in the same neighborhood, if not the same building.
My boy's and I always arrange to meet for lunch. Can you tell me anything better than that? nope! There's nothing better than eating with my boy's. whether It's meat or dairy or even ice cream, if were eating together it's fun.
The other day while i was having my cigarette outside the restaurant, i realized something intresting but wierd. All my boy's and I were wearing the same type of long Black jacket. They wouldnt look so similar if you were standing in the semi-circle but from outside it must have looked like we were going to pull a Columbine.
I understand It look's good with everything we wear to work and we don't always walk together but alittle color in the entourage would'nt hurt.
A normal person wouldn't point this out in his crew. That's why you should keep logging in to OrenStyle.

"Absurd" Is The Word.

I hope all my readers had a great holiday, I know I did. One of the thing's I loved most about the holiday was dancing in my yeshiva with all my friend's, rabbis and there kid's. It always start's off with a big huge circle then people go into the circle and everyone is having a blast. Only men acting crazy, imagine someone that didnt know how we roll happened to walk in on us doing the "hora" don't you think he would think we were crazy? I think he would. but... could he do it better?
I've been out to diffrent parties in many diffrent cities and counries in the world. In all the year's of seeing people dance in club's or whatever i never thought to myself that this wasn't wierd.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A GOOD MALE DANCER!!!! there are alot of good attempt's but if you consider yourself a respectable man you won't take dancing the slightest bit serious. I hate to admit it, but when i have too.... I'll break out my 2 step only when i have a drink otherwise i'd feel like the biggest asswipe.
Why do people dance?
Why do we have to move our bodies in wierd awkward position's when we are happy?
A great friend of mine got engaged last night. I attended his party and went to greet him on the dance floor. We gave eachother a big hug, I congradulated him and we started dancing.... How wierd does that sound? "I went to dance with my male friend".
It would be very hard for someone from another culture or background to understand how we greet eachother. It could even make one of us start thinking, why? I'm not doing research for you but i think the answer is obvious. TRADITION. Most of the thing's we do are adapted from our ancestor's. Most people asimilate and adapt to their enviroment which is dumb American culture, but we don't. We still dance in big circle's and we will always do so were the Jew's and these are some of the things that make us diffrent.
So back to the awkwardness of modern dancing, don't do it. I dont care if you think you could breakdance or rave or crip walk don't ever think that you are really good at it. If you're making fun of the people that do,that's fine I do it all the time and I do it well.
You think dancing could be one of your hobbies?
Get your crew together and do it all together like this,

The only way i wont make fun of you dancing is if you could bring it like that.

"No need to be gready I got mad friend's with Benz's C-notes by the layas true fuckin playas"

Quote:
"Friendship is not something that can be bought or earned, friendship is something that develope's naturally".
The other day, my good friend asked me what i was doing that evening. I told him that i was going to meet up with an old friend of mine who was in town for that night. The friend that i was with looked at me and said "him? your'e still in touch with him?". And i definately am, so i said yeah.
My friend got me thinking, why would'nt I want to be in touch with someone that know's me from as far back as i know myself. I have some friend's that I will stay in touch with forever. Whether its a once in a while phone call, a birthday, a celebration, a holiday or even a favor. I can always count on these friend's. Throughout the year's we naturally grew a part, we went to diffrent high school's and made new friend's. But that's what make's everytime we hang out even more intresting. Great stories and new people to meet.
I must havebeen 8 year's old when i saw "The Babysitter's Club". "TBC" was a series of girly book's that became a movie. I dont remember much of it but i remember the end. The main character from the movie was narrating some cheesy crap about her friend's and i don't know why but i will always remember this line. "my mother always said, that if i have more friend's then finger's on a hand then i have alot of friend's, well i can". I dunno why i still remember that now but i remember counting my fingers and realizing that i had alot alot of friend's.
Today, I would'nt be able to count my friend's with all my finger's and all my toe's. I developed alot of great friendship's once i started high school.
My new friend's are great, I've known all of them for a long time but i still consider them "new". We've been through happy and sad, fortunately mostly happy. We've traveled together, we even lived together in another country. All my boy's are roller's, they work hard and dont take much for granted. They are respectful and helpful and they are fuuuuked up but i am too and that's what make's us boy's.

"American eyes American eyes, view the world from American eyes, bury the past, rob us blind.... and leave nothing behind."

I've been a big fan of "Rage Against The Machine" for a long time now. "Rage Against The Machine" is a rock band that was very popular in the 90's. They really are one of the greatest band's ever according to OrenStyle. The guitarist is Tom Morello who is amazing with effects and win's the best guitarist award every other year from GuitarWorld magazine. The singer's name is Zack De La Rocha. Zack is a harvard graduate and a modern day revolutionary. His belief's are very influential through his music and very relevant to modern day American lifestyle. He hates our country the United States and feel's we are victims to it's conformity.
I compare Zack's word's with the word's i was tought growing up in a yeshiva. "this is all materialism". What is this world and what brings us happiness? is it money? Would driving a nice car and wearing fancy expencive clothes make me happy? (no) Is it the party's and going out drinking and dancing? (no) so what does bring us happiness?
According to Zack i dont think too many thing's bring us happiness. So i disagree with him alittle, but according to the word's that will be instilled in my head for the rest of my life, family will bring me joy and happiness. My religion will bring me joy and happiness. Helping other's succeed will bring me the most joy and happiness.
All these material thing's will not bring us anything but headache's. I know that i write about them all the time and enjoy using them, but as long as I KNOW that they are just temporary and that I am a prisoner of society, I will eventually improve and we should all do the same.

"It's Not Sunny In The Building".

Over the past few week's we've had some pretty shitty weather. Between the freezing cold day's we had a few nice one's. I remember a sunny day last week, I think it was Thursday. I love nice day's you guy's know how much i like wearing spring jacket's. On my way to work i've been seeing alot of girl's wearing sunglasses. Not that it's not sunny, but the sun doesn't really affect us on the way to the city. We're underground for most of the ride. These girl's remind me of a friend i had who would always wear his beenie hat inside A house or wherever the hell he went he would'nt take his stupid beenie off. An accessory is something you use when you have to. Sunglasses in the sun, Beenies in the cold, cellphone holder with a cellphone, bag if its full etc.... Dont let me see you wearing sunglasses indoor's its stupid... Unless you're high and have no eye drop's.
Here's a hot new song it's by the white guy from making the band, there's no video yet.

Shoaaa...... Shoaaa...........

"To Each His Own"

I've been writing on this great webpage for the last few week's. It started as a joke and a project and developed into an exciting hobby. Some people might call it a "blog". A "blog" is a short name for the term "web log". Blogspot.com is a "blog" website that people can write what they want and have people read it, or you can write and hide it. I choose to share my "blog" because there would be absolutely no point in writing something to myself everyday. I dont need a diary, and this is not a diary. I suggest you all write something about what you love or like to do, if you send it to me, ill read it. Even if its not entertaining, ill read it (i might just put a comment bashing you). To some people the fact that i write everyday is ironic and wierd. Why would anyone want to read about my opinion on style? and those people are right. If they think they don't need my tip's and suggestions, this "blog" isn't for them. I dont want them reading it or reffering to it.

I'd like to thank my good friend Raymond who thought it would be nice to share his opinion. I understand he might not find what i write intresting or helpful to make his wardrobe look alittle better on him, but the fact that he thought of me when he went shopping is enough.

"The Guido's From Staten Island Called, They Want There Hair Back".

When i was growing up, i'd always style my hair before i left my house. If it was wax in my hair to make a mowhawk or gel to spike my hair up. Over the past few year's i've grown smarter and wiser and definately more style consious. I thought it was very cool to spike my hair really spikey, I even had a tape up at the time. A tape up is a low fade all around and alot of hair on top and on the top's of the side. I'ts a great example of what not to do, and here is a picture.

Please as a proud brooklynite, do not let your hair look like this.
A great alternative and a much better looking idea for your head is to shave it all off evenly! I know it could sound risky but if the shape of your head can handle it go for it and it'll save u some dough.
Just today i was complimenting A good friend of mine on a good haircut he got. It was short but not too short (even though there's no such thing) and styled great. He simply replied "I dont like it, it's too short". He probably didnt realize but i looked at him in complete awe. Was he trying to be modest about his gangsta cut? could be but the cut is nice.
Remember in the first American Pie movie when the boys were eating in the restaurant in the begining and Jim (Jason Biggs) asked his boy's if he should go for "cool lay back Jim" with the front of his hair down or "cool bad ass Jim" with the front of his hair up? That scene defined hair style for that generation. I think our new generation is filled with cool faux hawks and crew cut's and thats fine as long as there's no attempts to spike it especially if you consider yourself a respectable human being. Avoid the gel and stick to the fresh out of the shower look. It takes no effort and i promise and im sure everybody will agree that its more comftorble.
Gel can cause loss of hair and acne if you sweat wearing gel. I havn't worn gel since the 12th grade and plan and staying that way.
Enjoy my song today it's FRESH. I dont even think theres a real music video yet.

"If I Dont Do Nofin Im A Ball"

I always hated carrying thing's. Whether its on the train on a plane or just for a walk you'll never catch me wearing a backpack or a messenger bag. Unless you are a college student in bumblezib, Alabama don't wear a messenger bag! When i stereotype nerdy white people i think of a stupid strap coming across there chest. Backpack's can be cool i have a cool North Face one that i use when i really have to but i got it a long time ago and would'nt make the same mistake again.
This morning i had the pleasure of helping a friend out with her Duffle bag, it was black and very subtle with cool holding straps. As i complimented her bag walking up the stairs with it, my friend said "feel's like you're holding a bag full of money" as she laughed. I laughed along and said yeah. I dont think she know's i was going to go write about it but i thought to myself, this really was a cool bag and i did feel like was holding cash. Maybe it was the way i was holding it, like a delicate luggage about to be delivered to a supplier. No straps on my shoulder's or on my waist it was just BAM in my hand like a champ.
If you happen to be a thug, another way to carry things around is a "Fanny Pack".
Remember those wierd little bags around the waist that you're old geeky math teacher would wear? those. Why? because they have been so out of style for so long (im not talking about the North Face one's) that i think it would be so cool to rock one out. This is a big part of what OrenStyle is about "originality" "creativity". I know that the next time im on vacation im going to go to the hotel gift shop and get a "Fanny Pack" with a name of the resort on it in bright neon color's because that's what i do. I like thing's that arn't seen everyday.

Here is s similar bag to the black one i had the pleasure of carrying today.

I'd like to thank Marjorie, she was my inspiration for this web page entry.

"Whoever Enter's March/Adar, Encounters Happiness"

My favorite holiday is coming up and it's not Easter. Purim is my favorite time and holiday of the year. I love the candy in the Mishloach Manot, I love seeing the little kid's dress up in costume's and i love hearng the Megilah. As much fun and happiness that Purim bring's we also have to think about the miracle that occured on this day thousand's of years ago. The saying is that you have to drink til you dont know the diffrence between Mordechai and Haman (lalalawowowowowlalala). This is a common misunderstanding especially by kid's. The Mitzva is to drink til you dont know the diffrence between the miracle of Mordechai becoming second to the king or the miracle that Haman (lalalalwowowowlalalala) was hung. I just learned this recently and regret the year's i would pass out in my Rebbe's house.
Purim time mean's alot more than just comemorating, drinking, and eating. The most important part of Purim like any other Jewish holiday is tradition. There's no where in the world I'd rather be on Purim night than my Rebbe's house. Thats my Purim tradition. Im not the only one, this is a tradition that will always be kept by my fellow TAB mate's and be kept for as long as we're here.
Every year as i enter the house and go greet my Rebbe, He's usually already drunk and put's me in a serious headlock. He give's me a kiss on my cheek and continues to cry. He look's up at the ceiling as if there was a flat screen mounted there and scream's to hashem "Please forgive us, why do we deserve all this happiness and joy, we take it for granted, please be merciful and bless Oren". Or something along those line's.
I was usually about to get drunk at the time and am jealous how drunk the rabbi is so i dont think much about what he's saying, til now. My Rebbe is right, Why do we do such bad things sometime's and get such good thing's in return. Is it because were "the chosen one's"? maybe, i dont know but ill tell you what i do know very well. Hashem is forgiving, he will always let us repent but we should not always make him have to. We should think about what our people have made it through, the war's the slavery the hatred and how many time's other nations and empires tried to destroy our tiny amount of people. We dont hear about the Roman Empire anymore, we dont hear about the Greek Empire anymore, The Egyptian Pharoah's or even the nazi's. We outlived them all. So let's not forget why we celebrate this great holiday, and enjoy it while we do.
Happy Purim from OrenStyle. And dont forget to look good while you celebrate!!

"My Commute"

I have been taking the train to work for the past few month's and learning how to appreciate the MTA. Besides for the fact that theres nothing like it in the whole entire world the Subway is a great thing. One of the things I like most about it is is that i always get to see beautiful girl's, theres always one around. I'm not going to get into the type's of girls i like but i will get into how i judge a girls style. Tight jeans! that makes everything clear, i can see legs, i can see ass if any girl's read this please do so. UGGS are fukin UGGly. ENOUGH! go see my post from a few days ago about fads and throw UGGly on the list. I like tight skinny jeans and those flat slipper thing's, i dont know what there called where a little part of the foot show's (you better have a tanned foot). Ive even seen pattened leather one's
Photobucket
I'm not looking for a pattened leather pair but there hot!
I also cant pass up a hot pair of kick's, A girl can look very corny with wierd kick's but the right ones could be hot. I cant wait for the summer to see all the thug girls with short short's and "Pastry" sneaker's. A cool pair of air max's can also look very hot.
Enjoy everybody, brand new song but you have to get the remix its alot faster. I found the video
