"Whoever Enter's March/Adar, Encounters Happiness"

My favorite holiday is coming up and it's not Easter. Purim is my favorite time and holiday of the year. I love the candy in the Mishloach Manot, I love seeing the little kid's dress up in costume's and i love hearng the Megilah. As much fun and happiness that Purim bring's we also have to think about the miracle that occured on this day thousand's of years ago. The saying is that you have to drink til you dont know the diffrence between Mordechai and Haman (lalalawowowowowlalala). This is a common misunderstanding especially by kid's. The Mitzva is to drink til you dont know the diffrence between the miracle of Mordechai becoming second to the king or the miracle that Haman (lalalalwowowowlalalala) was hung. I just learned this recently and regret the year's i would pass out in my Rebbe's house.
Purim time mean's alot more than just comemorating, drinking, and eating. The most important part of Purim like any other Jewish holiday is tradition. There's no where in the world I'd rather be on Purim night than my Rebbe's house. Thats my Purim tradition. Im not the only one, this is a tradition that will always be kept by my fellow TAB mate's and be kept for as long as we're here.
Every year as i enter the house and go greet my Rebbe, He's usually already drunk and put's me in a serious headlock. He give's me a kiss on my cheek and continues to cry. He look's up at the ceiling as if there was a flat screen mounted there and scream's to hashem "Please forgive us, why do we deserve all this happiness and joy, we take it for granted, please be merciful and bless Oren". Or something along those line's.
I was usually about to get drunk at the time and am jealous how drunk the rabbi is so i dont think much about what he's saying, til now. My Rebbe is right, Why do we do such bad things sometime's and get such good thing's in return. Is it because were "the chosen one's"? maybe, i dont know but ill tell you what i do know very well. Hashem is forgiving, he will always let us repent but we should not always make him have to. We should think about what our people have made it through, the war's the slavery the hatred and how many time's other nations and empires tried to destroy our tiny amount of people. We dont hear about the Roman Empire anymore, we dont hear about the Greek Empire anymore, The Egyptian Pharoah's or even the nazi's. We outlived them all. So let's not forget why we celebrate this great holiday, and enjoy it while we do.
Happy Purim from OrenStyle. And dont forget to look good while you celebrate!!
